An implantable contact lens, or ICL, is an artificial micro-lens used to correct vision. They are an alternative to traditional contact lenses and are sometimes called a Collamer Lens or Phakic Intraocular lens.
How Does EVO ICL Work?
Unlike traditional contact lenses, which sit on the surface of your eye, EVO ICL lenses are surgically inserted into your eyes. They sit between your iris (the colored bit of your eye) and your natural lens. They work by bending or refracting light onto your retina, which is where your optic nerve is. When light hits your retina, it processes a picture from the light, and your brain forms a clear picture, all without the help of glasses.
