Headaches? Your Vision Might be Changing

Many headaches are caused by eye strain, which can be alleviated by something as simple as adding task lighting to your work surface. On the other hand, some headaches are more serious and better suited for an appointment with ophthalmologists at Magruder Laser Vision.

Things You Get to Throw Away After Eye Surgery

When a patient first steps through the doors of Magruder Laser Vision, Doc Brock and his staff want to know what brings them to our offices and to open a discussion about the reasons they are considering eye laser surgery in Orlando. One of the most frequent responses we receive is a simple one: patients are tired. They are tired of having to put on glasses before they get out of bed in the morning. They are tired of having to take their contact lenses out before going to bed and struggling to get them back in the following morning. Dr. Brock Magruder consults personally with each patient to determine if eye laser surgery is a viable option for their unique circumstances. Whether you are nearsighted (myopia), farsighted (hyperopia), or suffering from the symptoms of a cataract, there is typically an eye laser surgical procedure that can eliminate the problem and correct your vision. At Magruder Laser Vision, we offer KAMRA, LASIK, PRK, ICL, refractive lens exchange, and laser cataract surgery, all of which are proven methods for restoring vision and improving the quality of life of our patients.

There are so much paraphernalia associated with wearing glasses and/or contact lenses, and it’s all costly. Frames and glass lenses are expensive. Contact lenses are expensive and require regular replacement. If you wear glasses or contacts, you know that you always have to have lens cleaner and cloths, cases, and cleaning solution on hand. Living in Florida, you also have to have clipon sunglasses or a pricey pair of prescription sunglasses, or lenses that darken when exposed to the bright sun. People who wear contact lenses and glasses are tired of having to lug around all of the additional equipment just so they can see the world clearly.

Traveling as a glasses or contact lens wearer requires careful packing of all the items listed above. There is nothing worse than arriving at your destination only to find out you forgot to pack your glasses or a spare pair of contact lenses. You are pretty much praying throughout the entire trip that nothing happens to what you did manage to pack.

Doc Brock wants you to know that there are alternatives available to help correct your vision that will allow you to toss the glasses, the contacts, the dime store readers, and all of the “stuff” that accompanies being dependent on them to see the world as it was intended.  He invites you to come in for a no-cost consultation to determine if you are an eye laser surgery in Orlando candidate. The skilled staff at Magruder Laser Vision is devoted to helping you restore your vision and allow you to live life unencumbered by the costly supplies associated with glasses and contact lenses. When ICL Surgery is Right For You

This description of ICL was recently provided to us by a patient who asked that his name not be used for promotional purposes. What happens to those of us who are too nearsighted for LASIK or PRK eye surgery (Photorefractive Keratectomy)? If you are not considered a good candidate for laser eye surgery, want to avoid major eye surgery, or don’t have time to recover from LASIK, ICL surgery may be your best choice for excellent vision. It was for me!

My Experience with Implantable Contact Lenses

Many years ago when LASIK was the rage, I visited not one, not two, but three laser eye surgeons to see about laser eye surgery and was told that my amount of nearsightedness and astigmatism was more than the laser could handle. I had what they called an extreme amount: my contacts lenses were -10.0. I retreated back into my contacts and resigned myself to being a slave to their care and maintenance. Years later I heard about ICL eye surgery. What’s THAT? It is the Verisyse Implantable Collamer Lens by a company called Starr Surgical. It is for people like me and anyone else whose corneas may be too thin for LASIK or PRK surgery.

The FDA approved Implantable Contact Lenses in Dec 2005. It really is amazing technology. The surgeon inserts the lens through a very small tube and can even remove it and replace it with another if your vision changes in the future. It’s very much like a regular contact lens but it’s permanent; you don’t have to remove it for cleaning or swimming. Better yet, it won’t pop out or slide around either like regular contact lenses and it’s nearly invisible.

No Laser Eye Surgery Means Minimal Recovery Time

I guessed that enough “guinea pigs” had gone before me, so I did it! The surgery took about 30 minutes. Thirty. Minutes. A local anesthesia was used and I was awake the whole time. I didn’t feel a thing. It wasn’t like what I heard about LASIK or PRK where you had to wait a day or two for good vision, I could see IMMEDIATELY. There was no discomfort and I was able to resume my life and return to work THE NEXT DAY.

ICL eye surgery changed my life and it can change yours too. If you have more questions on how you can get same day results with ICL, see a step-by-step guide of what to expect before, during and after your procedure or read our patient reviews.

If you were told that you are not a candidate for LASIK, I strongly urge you to schedule a consultation with Magruder Laser Vision and Dr. Magruder today to learn more about the amazing benefits of ICL surgery.
